Our working group that was formed from the gather “From Principles to Action”, is about local food, the farmers who produce this food, other producers of crafts and goods, and primarily farmer’s markets within out Kearsarge Valley Area who are vending these goods. They make it available for the townspeople to easily purchase all of these local goods in one place. Some of the questions we have are as follows: How can producers market their goods? How can these goods make it to the vendors? How can we create an even more successful market, especially within the boundary of our Kearsarge Valley Area? Are there any incentives we can create to buy these goods, and how do we show people that buying local is beneficial for all individuals participating in this practice? Our goal of this working group is to find answers to these questions and to dive deeper within our areas local food system, so buying local and the benefits associated with local foods will thrive within our local community.
